Finishing touches on the ramp on the east side of Hamraborg are in the final stages
Final finishing work is underway on the exit ramp on the east side of Hamraborg by Vallatröð, and the work is expected to be completed in the coming days.
The work has taken longer than originally estimated. During the construction period, several issues arose that affected the progress of the project. Among other things, it proved necessary to renew water pipes that lay deeper than expected and were also located under a retaining wall. This made the project both more complex and more extensive than the original plan had anticipated.
Additionally, Veitur had to renew both hot water and electrical pipes in the area alongside the project. This work was not part of the original project plan and affected the timeline of the project.
In addition, technical challenges arose with the connection of hot water and electricity into the buildings, which required further on-site adaptation.
Despite these delays, systematic work has been carried out to complete the project as quickly as possible. If all goes according to plan, the ramp will be reopened to traffic in the coming days.
The Municipality of Kópavogur thanks residents, businesses, and other road users for their understanding and patience during the construction period.
