Construction work has begun at the Fannborg site

Phase 0 is now concluding and Phase 1 has begun.

Phase 1 involves the demolition of the buildings at Fannborg 2, 4, and 6. On Tuesday, February 3, the Kópavogur building commissioner issued a demolition permit for Fannborg 2, and the demolition of that building has commenced. An information meeting regarding the demolition in the Fannborg area was held on January 28, 2026, and that meeting can be viewed here on the page under "Information meetings".
