The Fannborg project continues to progress

Work on the plots at Fannborg 2, 4, and 6 continues. The contractor is demolishing and crushing the foundation slab and plinth of Fannborg 2. Almost all waste from Fannborg 6 has now been removed.

Next on the agenda is to level and compact the gravel parking lot and move the construction fencing.

It is anticipated that work regarding access to the Gjábakka house will begin shortly.

Discussions have arisen regarding potential asbestos in the area. The fact is that no asbestos is to be found in the construction waste of the buildings that stood at Fannborg 2, 4, and 6. The contractor commissioned the company Skima ehf. to inspect and investigate whether there was asbestos in Fannborg 2. Houses 4 and 6 were built after asbestos was taken off the market, but Skima also inspected those buildings. The conclusion was that no asbestos was found in the buildings.

Attached is Skima's report, which was sent to the Kópavogur Health Inspectorate.
